Project presented by Jim Ptacek (Larsen Architects), and new business owners.  Discusses the changes to the elevation materials and colors, parking lot configuration with double ordering points and shifting of ADA parking.  The result is a very recognizable McDonald's with a contemporary look.  Material samples provided.

Committee Concerns, Questions, Comments

  • The rendering shows an open glass corner, but is not being shown in the elevation drawings.
  • Will return for permitting of the signage.  Suggestion to place the signage in the same location as shown in the rendering.
  • Will the entire parking lot be resurfaced with the new parking configuration?  Will you be cutting out the asphalt vs concrete.
  • Is the northern lot frequently used or ever at capacity?
  • Was there any thought of adding outdoor seating?
  • Can greenspace be added?
  • Is the guardrail horizontal or vertical, it is displayed differently in the rendering vs the elevation drawings.  Will be vertical.

Councilman Dow in attendance to state that the new business owners have been working within the community and he is supportive of the project.

Motion to approve as presented with lowering the McDonald's letter similar to the rendering.
